Can you get syphilis when using a condom?

Using latex condoms correctly when engaging in sexual activity greatly reduces the risk of contracting syphilis. Condoms form a barrier that prevents contact with any sores which may be present, thereby reducing the risk of transmission. However, it is important to note that sores can occur in areas not covered by the condom, and contact with these sores can still cause syphilis transmission.
