Unprotected sex with HIV

Can you have unprotected sex if you have HIV?

An HIV-positive patient who isn’t treated can transmit the infection to others during unprotected sex. It is highly recommended to use protection in order to prevent the infection from spreading to others. If your viral loads are undetectable, you will not be able to pass HIV to your partner since there is not enough HIV in your body fluids.
